Ludo Roll

Call the faces the die will land on.

What Ludo Roll is

Not the full board game — the part everyone actually watches. One die, one roll, and you say in advance which faces you will accept.

Call one face and the payout is large. Call three and you win half the time for a smaller return.

How to play

  1. Set your stake.
  2. Select one, two or three faces of the die.
  3. The payout for your selection is shown before you commit.
  4. Roll. If the die lands on any face you picked, you are paid.

The clearest example of how Lottra's odds work

Ludo Roll is the easiest place to see the rule that governs every game here, because the maths is small enough to hold in your head.

Pick three faces and you win half the time. Pick one and you win a sixth of the time — a third as often — so it pays about three times as much. Multiply the chance by the payout in either case and you get the same number.

That is what 'the same return at every choice' means in practice. There is no hidden best option and no trap option. Pick one face if you want a big, infrequent win, or three if you would rather win often and smaller.

Worth knowing before you play

The roll is sealed before you choose and revealed afterwards, so the die cannot see your pick.

Every random result is sealed before you choose and published afterwards, so it can be checked rather than trusted — see provably fair.
